Turning sync ON and OFF in Chrome

Google users can easily create a profile on the Chrome browser as Google Chrome is a cross-platform web browser developed by Google. All you need to do is sign-in along with your G-mail account. It helps you synchronize your information such as history, cookies, bookmarks, passwords and other settings. To switch on sync, here’s what you need to do:

Open Chrome app, Tap on the three-dots Menu at the top right corner. Go to Settings. Here, sign in with your Chrome. Tap on Continue and then ok. You can follow a similar process on your Chrome for PC.

If you are using a public computer, we will recommend you to skip signing in with your Google account and instead use it as the guest mode or incognito mode.

Personalize your home page

Startup page is that the one you see once you launch Chrome on your PC or Smartphone. Home page is the one you see when tapping on the home button. But yeah now you can customized all of those icon on home page, here is what you need to do:

On your computer, Open Chrome browser. Tap on the three-dot menu at the top right corner. Go to Settings Choose ‘Appearance’ and turn on Show Home button. Under this button, you can now choose to set a new tab page or a custom page as per your taste.

Bookmarks, Passwords and more

As said earlier, syncing allows you to import bookmarks, passwords, cookies and other information across all your Devices. However, now google further gives you the option to select what information you want to be synchronized over the internet. To personalize your syncing, here is what you need to do:

Open Chrome browser. Click on the three-dot menu at the top right corner to enter Settings. Under the ‘You and Google’ option, Tap on sync and Google services. Here, you’ll take a look at all of the synchronized information. Under the Sync button you can choose what to be synced or not. If you do not prefer syncing, you can simply turn off ‘Sync your Chrome data’.

Change Font Style

If you don’t like the default font in Google Chrome then you can change it with simple tips. Google Chrome offers a native setting to customize font type style and size.

To change the font on Chrome, Go to Chrome settings >> go to the Appearance section. Here, you will find Font Size and Customize fonts options available. Tap on them to change it.

Use Themes

Google launched a couple of themes for Chrome Browser and if you need additional themes you can add them through extensions. Now, you simply need to head to the Chrome settings and apply a theme as per your preferences. here’s what you need to do:

Open Chrome on your PC. Click on the three-dots icon at the top right corner and select Settings. Scroll it down and click on Themes under Appearance. You will now get redirect to the Chrome Web Store.

Select any of the theme you like. Tap on the next screen & now Add to Chrome. If you wanna go back to the default theme, then just click on Reset to default next to Themes in Chrome Settings.

Add Image As Chrome Background

To add a picture as the page background, open a new tab on your Chrome browser. Click on the Customize icon present at the bottom.

A new window will appear that will let you select one from the available backgrounds or upload a new one from your folder. To add your customize background image  >>  click on Upload from the device. After importing the image from folder click on Done.

Change or Disable Shortcuts

To change the available default shortcuts on the New tab page, click on the Customize button at the bottom of the page >> click on Shortcuts.

You will get two options — ‘My shortcuts and Most visited sites’. In the former one, you need to set the shortcuts manually and Chrome will automatically generate shortcuts within the latter depending on the frequency of their usage. Just in case if you don’t want to see shortcuts, turn on the toggle next to Hide shortcuts.
