As we all know, Google Maps is undoubtedly one of the most popular apps on Google’s portfolio and the company often releases newer updates to make the service even better and easy to use UI Interface’s.

Since, as it’s 15th anniversary earlier this year in February the app has obtained a ton of new features like Live-View AR navigation, a new real-time location sharing UI, YouTube Music integration, Integrated menu scanning and much more. According with a recent file from Droid-Life, the Google has started testing it’s new feature which will display the Traffic’s light in Google Maps on Android.

Recently, the reported cites screenshot’s taken by a reader who lives in West Des Moines Iowa, which show the Traffic lights in several intersections around the city. Though, the traffic lights are visible both while using the traditional map view as well as while navigating.

However, they do appear slightly bigger and more noticeable while navigating to our destination. This feature is expected to give users a heads up when they are about to reach a Traffic light/Signal and even help them to plan their route ahead to save time as well as to avoid any unnecessary delay.

As of now the feature is limited to just showing the Traffic lights on the Google map and Google hasn’t included any of the additional functionality for the user’s. However, this might change by the time as the feature is released to more user’s. Though, this feature currently appears to be in its early stages of development as now it is only available for a small number of users in certain regions only as on version 10.44.3 of the Google Andriod App.

It’s also worth nothing that Apple Map’s already had a similar feature since last year which offers more accurate and additional functionality like using ‘Siri’ to alert users when they are about to reach Traffic light.
